The Benefits Of Bartending

Bartending can be the highest paying food service career out
there. Me, being the positive person I am, I try to always find
the benefits and lessons in everything, so this is, in my
opinion, a list the best benefits of bartending. I personally,
make more money than anyone else, including the other bartenders
& managers.
The Benefits: Freedom... Forget about working the 9 to 5. I
have freedom to sleep in and get up whenever I want. My shifts
are generally four to six hours MAX. So I make twice the cash in
half the time of most people out there.
Flexibility... I could get a full-time gig at a nightclub,
casino, restaurant, bar, or sports venue. Or hire out my services
part-time for weddings, yacht parties, banquets, etc. The
ridiculous amount of flexibility in bartending gives me time to
work on my internet business. I can arrange to have my shift
covered anytime, there is always someone willing to make some
extra cash.
Connections...Celebrities, business owners, and movers &
shakers! I am in a position of to make someone's night, and when
I do, people want to help me out in crazy ways- anyway they can.
Which reminds me...
Free Stuff... Everyone wants to be the bartender's friend,
everyone likes to be "connected" with the person in the know. I
cannot list how much free stuff I have been given... from
designer clothes, roses, Laker tickets, free merchandise at
other establishments, to several Ben Franklin's at a time, It is
unbelievable!
The opportunities I have attracted are incredible. From job
offers, investment opportunities, free stuff from liquor
companies, to a movie audition....one man offered to pay for my
car when it was damaged!
Travel Anywhere... I could easily travel the world without a
shortage of work. Ever wanted to go to Europe for a year but
thought you could not afford it? Want to go live in an exotic
travel destination? Caribbean? Jamaica? Ausralia? Cruise ship?
Bartending is a good skill to learn.
Skills... I may not want to be a bartender forever, but the
skills I have developed will benefit me down the road forever.
Not only physically, but the human behavior knowledge that I
have learned is priceless.
The situations I have been in while bartending have boosted my
confidence, problem solving ability, personality and
salesmanship, communication skills, etc...All these are necessary
steps to becoming successful in all facets of life. There are
times, I feel that I am on a higher level than most people I
meet, No substance abuse involved ;)
